The Nigerian Association of Law Teachers, (NALT) has elected new officers to pilot the affairs of the association for the next two years.
The new officers were elected during the 55th Annual Conference of NALT held at the University of Ilorin. The new exco is the first elected eo of the Association
A statement by the Association on Tuesday said Prof Oluwole Akintayo of the University of Ibadan was elected as President of NALT.
It added that Dr. Esa Okibe Onoja of the Nigerian Law School was was elected as the general secretary of the association.
Other elected officers include: Dr. Mmena Eboh of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies ( NIALS ), Treasurer; Dr. Mohammed Bashir Badr, Financial Secretary; Dr Paul Ikenna Ukam, Assistant General Secretary, and Mr. Idris Ibrahim Alao, Publicity Secretary.
The Board of Trustee is chaired by Prof Adedamola Popoola of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.
The NALT was established in 1961 as an umbrella body of all law teachers in Law Faculties, Nigerian Law School, NIALS, NILDS, and other institutions that run LL.B programmes in Nigeria.
The NALT national scretariat is at the Nigerian Law School.
