The National President of NACCIMA Hajia Saratu Iya Aliyu has expressed shock and sadness on the sudden death of Alhaji Sanusi Maijama one of the leading National officers of NACCIMA and a former President of the Coalition of Northern Chambers of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture(CONCCIMA).
Alhaji Sanusi Maijamaa, who also holds the traditional title of ” Dallatu of Bauchi”, died suddenly in the early hours of today Saturday 28th December.
The NACCIMA President, extolled the virtues of Alhaji Maijamaa who was scheduled to represent NACCIMA at an investiture ceremony in Sapele on Sunday 29th December but fell ill and died just some hours before departing for that assignment in Sapele.
Alhaji Maijamaa served NACCIMA and the Northern Chambers in several capacities. He did a lot to build up the Chambers movement as veritable platform to promote the activities of private sector operators at State and National levels.
He also served on the Board of several National Agencies such as the Tax Board.
As Chair of NACCIMA Membership Committee, he did a lot to expand Membership of NACCIMA by encouraging capacity building of Chambers in all parts of the country. He also worked assiduously to expand Corporate Membership of NACCIMA, bringing in prominent Companies and multinationals operating in Nigeria into the NACCIMA fold.
NACCIMA is deeply saddened by the death of Alhaji Sanusi Maijamaa and hereby expresses deep condolences to his immediate and extended family, the Bauchi State government, the Bauchi Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Nigerian Chambers movement in general.
As a fitting tribute in his honour, NACCIMA will continue his good work and commitment to ensure capacity development of Chambers across the country, for a thriving private sector and pursuit of the idea of Co-prosperity he actively promoted for the well being of the people. May his soul RIP.
