By Gracious Akujobi The winner of the Glo Premier League pre-season Super Four Tournament will take home the sum of N1.5 million, Chairman of the League Management Company (LMC), Nduka Irabor has said.
In the same vein, the runners up will pocket N1 million, third place team will go home with N750, 000 while the fourth team will also get N500, 000.
Already, the fixtures for the Super Four billed to run from January 24 to 28 at the Abuja National Stadium has been released.
The Glo Premier League Champions, Kano Pillars will lead three other teams Enyimba FC, Bayelsa United and Warri Wolves to Abuja for the battle to determine the overall winner.
Irabor told Prompt News Online, “It is a pre-season tourney and it offers them an opportunity to tune up for the continental club competitions for which they will represent Nigeria, they have an opportunity to a close to enough simulation for the kind of matches or competition so it a good tune up for them.
“We are also bearing the cost of the clubs up to the tune of one million naira, all the clubs will get an advance of one million naira each to take care of their cost coming here.
“There is also prize money, the winner will be getting N1.5 million, the second team will be getting one million, the third team will get N750,000 while the fourth will get N500, 000”.
The LMC boss enjoins the media to give the pre-season tourney wide coverage so that Abuja residents could come out en masse to cheer the teams.
The pre season tournament will also feature workshops for Club managers, players, supporters clubs and medical officials.
