By Omobolaji Oyegunle, LONDON – Nigeria’s Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has stated that the team missed the service and experience of Mikel Obi, during their friendly match against Senegal last week.
He told Prompt News Online in an exclusive on Saturday at the team’s hotel in London, that they really felt Obi’s absence during the game.
“We did not play badly on Thursday against Senegal. We are trying all the players at our disposal at this point in time and I believe by the time we play one or two games more, then, I will know which of them that are really ready for the team’s remaining qualifiers.
“I know Nigeria has a lot of players in Europe but at the moment, am only shopping for the best that can add value to the team.
“We missed Mikel experience during the team’s friendly against Senegal . You know he is always playing a commanding role for the team and other players tap from his experience,” he stated.
Meanwhile, our correspondent gathered from the team’s hotel that Leicester player, Ahmed Musa might go on loan to another club in order to get more playing time.
