The Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, has urged leaders of Health professional bodies to ensure harmonious working relationship among their members.
He made this call when members of the Committee of Registrars of Health Professions (CRHP) made an advocacy visit to his office recently, in Abuja.
Professor Adewole who commended the Committee for their visit said that there was need for more networking and consultative meetings in the health sector since in his words ‘ all health practitioners are essentially related’.
He further stressed that more regular meetings between various health associations and the Federal Ministry of Health would help the sector nib brewing challenges in the bud and end the use of strikes as weapons to settle grievances.
Speaking earlier, leader of the delegation, Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Mami said that their visit was to improve their working relationship with the Ministry and appeal to the Minister to look into the speedy reconstitution of Boards of management for the various health professional bodies.
Alhaji Mami also appealed for more funds to be allocated to the body to enable it carry out its constitutional responsibility of field visitation to the 35,000 health facilities and regulatory bodies under its purview; a plot of land for permanent office accommodation in FCT and the placement of it’s members on internship program me , amongst others.
