By Olusegun Lawrence Former Senate President, David Mark, was on Wednesday sworn in for a record sixth time as a senator.
He is currently the longest serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Mark was sworn in the morning at plenary by the President of the Senate, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, after taking the traditional oath of office and allegiance.
His colleagues gave him a standing ovation after the swearing in while they also took turn to exchange banters with him.
Mark thanked his constituents and Nigerians alike for the support and prayers that helped him win the Benue South Senatorial District rerun poll on February 20, 2016.
