A 36-year-old filling station manager, Adedayo Kolawole, was, on Wednesday, arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for allegedly stealing N6 million belonging to the filling station.
Kolawole, who is the Manager with Taoliyya Filling Station, Dalute on Akala expressway, Ibadan, was charged with theft, to which he, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Insp Olalekan Adegbite, told the court that Kolawole committed the offence between March 2023 and March 25, 2024.
Adegbite said that the defendant used his position as the manager to fraudulently convert the company’s money to his personal use.
According to him, the offence contravenes Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Oluwabusayo Osho, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million, with two sureties in like sum.
Osho said that one of the sureties must be a blood relation of the defendant.
She, thereafter, adjourned the case till April 4 for hearing. (NAN)
