A 28-year-old man, Pascal Francis, was on Tuesday, arraigned in a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing his employer’s N410,000.
Francis is facing a charge of stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Insp Chidi Leo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on May 2, at Ungwan Rimi area of Kaduna State.
Leo said the defendant stole the money belonging to his employer, Mr James Williams of Safe-easy Empowerment Centre located at Ungwan Rimi, Kaduna.
The prosecutor said that during police investigations, the defendant could not give satisfactory explanation of what he did with the money.
Leo said the offence contravened Sections 166, 217 of the Penal Code of Kaduna State, 2017.
Section 217 prescribes a four year jail term as penalty for offenders.

The Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 with sureties in like sum.
Emmanuel said that the sureties must be gainfully employed and reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
He adjourned the case until June 24, for hearing. (NAN)
