A 31-year-old man, Bashiru Dauda, was on Friday arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a bag of soya beans, valued N35,000, belonging to his employer.
The defendant, a loader, who resides at Oko- Oba, Agege, Lagos, is being tried for burglary and stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp Innocent Odugbo, told the court that the offences were committed on Jan. 31, at Fusal Enterprise, located at 309 Old Abeokuta Road, Oko-Oba Agege, Lagos.
Odugbo alleged that the defendant broke through the window of the company’s warehouse and stole the bag of soya beans.
The prosecutor said that the defendant was on his way out when he was caught.
The offences, according to the prosecutor, contravened Sections 287 and 309 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mrs M. O Popoola, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N20, 000, with one surety in like sum.
Popoola adjourned the case until March 20, for mention. (NAN)
