A 41-year old man, Tony Kolawole, was on Tuesday arraigned before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, over an alleged N5.4 million fraud.
Kolawole, whose address was not given, is being charged with conspiracy, obtaining by false pretence and stealing.
The Prosecutor, ASP Esther Adesulu, told the court that the defendant committed the offence between June 1 and 31 at Ojo-Igbede, Ajangbadi, Lagos.
She said that Kolawole conspired with others now at large, to fraudulently obtain goods worth N5.4 million, belonging to the complainant, Mrs Lilian Ndulue.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 287, 314 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs A. Alade, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
