Top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation will next week storm Johannesburg, South Africa for a three-day Member Associations and Development Seminar organised by world football-governing body, FIFA.
The seminar is for FA Presidents, General Secretaries and Technical Directors, and Aminu Maigari, Musa Amadu and Dr.Emmanuel Ikpeme will join delegates from 27 other African countries for the event at the Sandton Sun Hotel in South Africa’s commercial and economic capital.
According to the letter of invitation from the world body, the seminar will focus primarily on topics such as information on the FIFA governance reforms; new regulations governing development programmes;
FIFA development programmes and services for member associations; CAF development programmes (Club Licensing) and; co-operation between FIFA and CAF.
Delegates are expected from Nigeria, Angola, Botswana, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Maigari, presently with the U-17 Women National Team, Flamingoes, at the 4th FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica, is expected to return to Nigeria this weekend, after the girls’ quarter final duel
with Spain on Thursday (early hours of Friday in Nigeria).
The seminar, starting on Wednesday, will run through Thursday and Friday as well, and the officials are expected back in the country on Saturday.
