Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has described the late mother of renowned lawyer, Niyi Akintola (SAN) as an exemplar of virtuous motherhood.
The former vice-president, in a press statement by his media office in Abuja on Monday, noted that the demise of Madam Odunola Abeje Akintola, would ordinarily be a painful experience for her children and relatives to bear, but hers was a lifetime well spent judging by the quality of children that survived her.
“Given her humble trade as a bean cake maker, it is astonishing how Madam Akintola has been able to empower her children through the instrumentality of education, thus raising successful offsprings, including one the finest breed of lawyers in Nigeria.
“No doubt, her life will remain to be an exemplar of forthrightness in motherhood, in the sense that no matter how humble your earnings are, or whatever your situation may look like, as a mother there should be no alternative to education in raising your children,” Atiku said
