Super Eagles duo, Ademola Lookman and William Troost-Ekong have been nominated for The FIFA Best Awards 2024.
Lookman is nominated in the Best Attacker Category.
The Atalanta star will battle 21 other players for the award.
The 27-year-old also ranked 14th in the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
Prompt News reports that Troost-Ekong is among 22 shortlisted players for the defenders category.
The centre-back was the Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations).
Another Super Eagles star Onuachu is in the running alongside 10 other nominees for the Puskas Award category.
His goal against Konyaspor in the 2023-24 Super Lig on November 10 2023, during his loan at Trabzonspor, was shortlisted.
Asisat Oshoala, who now plays for NWSL club Bay FC, will contest against 10 other nominees for the FIFA Marta award.
Voting is now open on FIFA’s official website across a number of award categories, with fans set to play a key role in choosing the winners.
The voting will be equally weighted between fans, the current captains and coaches of all women’s/men’s national teams, and media representatives.
