By Gracious Akujobi Barely 24 hours after the purported sack of Nduka Irabor-led League Management Company (LMC) by Club owners, Minister of Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi has thrown his weight behind LMC, saying that it is only Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that has the right to sack or dissolve the LMC.
Abdullahi, described the action of the club owners as constituting hindrance to development of Nigeria football.
“We are glad with the success the LMC recorded in this just concluded football season.LMC was the creation of the NFF and it is only the NFF that can determine when the tenure of the LMC will be over.
“The tenureship of LMC is not the law of the National Assembly, it was determined by NFF so the NFF can decide whether they want LMC to continue or not and if they say they go for 100 year it is within their prerogative and they have the right to do it.
“LMC have been able to bring sponsorship to the league which we are all happy about. I am happy with their progress and I know football lovers are happy with what they have achieved so far.
“So, club owners must align themselves with these progress for the interest of the game” he concluded,” Abdullahi counseled.
