Popular Nollywood actress, Laide Bakare has advised young career-driven women to prioritise family while starting out in their career.
Bakare disclosed this in an interview on a recent episode of Nollywood on Radio, stressing that if they work on it early, they can have the rest of their lives to focus on their career advancement.
Her words: “If you are aspiring to be a superstar, successful in your career as a young girl, I would advise you to get married and have kids early.
“So that you can have the rest of your years to push your career because the family area is very important.”
She recounted her personal experience, explaining that she was not interested in marriage when she had her first child.
She said, “Maybe I should retract that because I do not mean marriage. I never thought of marriage. The time I had my first child, I just wanted a baby”
The actress reiterated her stance, stating that her advice is centred around building a family, and not necessarily about marriage.
“So the advice is not to get married early but start having a family,” Laide Bakare added.
