The Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) has announced the establishment of its Female Football Development Committee to empower women in football.
The Chairperson of LSFA’s female football development committee, Raliat Abdulsalam, made this known on Tuesday in a statement in Lagos.
According to the statement, the committee will host a mentorship and training programme on Aug.10 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Stadium, Lagos, to flag off the initiative.
”We are committed to creating opportunities for women/girls to succeed in football.
”This programme is just the beginning of our efforts to foster a supportive community and promote female participation in the sport,” Abdulsalam said.
She said the programme would provide the platform for female players, coaches and referees to develop their skills, share experiences and connect with industry professionals.
She also said that the event would feature a mini tournament for girls between the ages of seven and 18 years as well as training sessions, workshops and mentorship opportunities.
”They will all be focused on promoting gender equality and growth in football,” Abdulsalam said. (NAN).
