Edo State Labour Party is fully set and prepared for the September 10th race to Osadebe Avenue.
Speaking to journalists in Benin, the State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Uroupa Samson, said, Edo people can no longer continue to recycle those who have squandered the state resource over time.
Labour Party candidate, Pastor Amos Areleogbe is eminently qualified without any blemish. Labour Party being the only alternative to Edo People now, our social democratic ideals are hinged on equal opportunity and social justice, food production, affordable healthcare system, security for all etc.
He also said that the attention of the leadership of Labour Party has been drawn to some fraudulent activities of certain faceless fraudsters and impostors found in the habit of impersonating the name and logo of the Labour Party in PDP rallies in the state to obtain monies.
These fraudsters are claiming to be members/officers of Labour Party. He wondered while the Peoples Democratic Party and his candidate Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamus will allow themselves to be associated with such illegal group.
We have severally debunked such claims by this group in recent times both in the print and electronic media.
Recently, the leadership of the party have also noticed a whatsApp platform known as “LABOUR PARTY PATRIOTS” by this same group to mislead, misinform and misdirect the general public.
The Publicity Secretary used this opportunity to advise members of the public to beware of these fraudsters.
He further told journalists that reports of these activities have being made known to the security agencies
He expressed confidence in the ability of the security agencies to deal with these issues.
