One of Kwara United FC of Ilorin most experienced defenders and the club’s highest goal scorer this season, Lateef Adigun, has said that he targets up to 10 to 15 goals in the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
Adigun said this at the training ground of the team on Wednesday in Ilorin while speaking on the performance of his team this season.
The former Shooting Stars Sport Club of Ibadan (3SC) defender said he is not after any award but working hard to see that his goals help the Afonja Warriors to pick one of the available tickets in division A of the NNL.
Adigun has scored five goals in the league and a brace in the State Federation Cup to take his tally to seven so far.
He said he is delighted to join Kwara United at the beginning of the season, saying playing at home is always on his mind.
He said there are only few difference between Kwara United and 3SC describing both Ilorin and Ibadan soccer fans as passionate ones.
The Afonja Warriors defender described his Coach, Samson Unuanel, as one of the best in the country and pledged to justify the confidence he reposed in him.
He said the NNL is a tougher league than the Premier League, adding that there is space to express yourself in the Premier League than the NNL which he described as “Jambody”.
Adigun thanked his teammates for accepting him and helping him to settle down quickly at the club.
Kwara United occupied the seventh position on the NNL table with 17 points from 11 games and plus five goals difference.
