Traditional rulers in Kwara State have commiserated with the State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed over the death of some PDP party supporters at the charity house, ilorin, just as they pledged their support and loyalty to the State government.
The Vice-Chairman of the State’s Council of Chiefs and Etsu Patigi, Ibrahim Chatta Umar, who led other members on behalf of the Chairman, Zulukarnaini Ibraheem Gambari, CFR, on a condolence visit to Government House on Saturday, described the death of the PDP party members as most unfortunate and prayed God to grant the victims eternal rest and give their families the fortitude to bear the loss.
Responding, Governor Ahmed described the death of the PDP members as highly devastating especially at a time when everyone was celebrating the Sallah festival.
Governor Ahmed commended the state council of chiefs and the entire traditional rulers in the state for their concern and steadfast loyalty, assuring them that his administration would not relent in its effort at delivering optimal dividend of democracy to the people.
He described the role of traditional rulers as pivotal as they play critical role in supporting governance at the grassroots levels.
