Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Dr Ali Ahmad has said that contributions of the Radio, Television, Theatre, Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU) in the society could not be over-emphasised.
The Speaker said this while addressing the union executives who were in his office on Wednesday to present an Award of Excellence to him for his contributions at the House of Representatives.
In a statement issued by his Media Aide, Shuaib Abdulkadir, Ahmad noted that members of the union have through their respective medium entertain, enlighten, educate and continue to inform the public.
Therefore, he stressed that the House would not hesitate to provide the needed support and contribute immensely to the union’s success.
The Speaker who encouraged the members not to relent in their efforts however apologised for his inability to attend the programme where the award would have been presented.
He appreciated the association to have considered him worthy for the award, noting that it would further spur him to achieve more in his legislative assignments.
Earlier, the Chairman, Radio, Television, Theatre, Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU), Kwara State Chapter, Comrade Abdulyekin Gesua acknowledged the Speaker’s giant stride while at the National Assembly.
Gesua maintained that without doubt the Speaker is the best among the Representatives at the 7th Assembly and one of the best the country has produced.
He also reiterated their confidence in the speaker’s leadership abilities to make the House of Assembly a vibrant one that would be proud of by every Kwarans.
