Kogi state owned Nigeria National League side, Kogi United FC has appointed Wale Mustapha as the new Media Officer of the club. The appointment follows the resignation of the former Media Officer, Samuel Ahmadu.
Until his appointment, Mustapha, who obtained a National Diploma certificate in Mass Communication from the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, was a Sports presenter with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Harmony FM, Idofian, Kwara state.
The appointment has been sanctioned by the chairman of Kogi utd Fc, Abdul Adama, who is also the Special Adviser to Governor Idris Wada on Public Private Partnership.
Adama added that the appointment takes effect immediately. The Pioneer Chairman of ABS FC reiterated the state government’s resolve to support the team to win a Premier League ticket, adding that the on-going arrangements are part of the efforts geared towards achieving the set goals.
He called on all football stake holders in Kogi state as well as fans and supporters of the club to support the management’s efforts aimed at re-branding the club as a real professional outfit.
Speaking on his new appointment, Wale Mustapha, a product of Sportspro International, who has covered both local and international sporting events thanked the club for the offer and promised to justify the confidence reposed in him.
He said his major concern would be how best to give the club a good image and to make it an enviable brand in the face of the public.
The new Media Officer assumed duty on Monday in Lokoja.
