The results of the Kogi state governorship election held on Saturday are now trickling in from Local Government collation centres.
From the results declared so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Abubakar Audu, appears to be leading.
He’s however being closely followed by the incumbent Governor Idris Wada, who is flying the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to the results released officially by INEC, the APC candidate is leading by over 17,000 votes in seven Local Government Areas.
The LGAs are:
Adavi: APC – 15,636, PDP- 11,902
KOTON KARFE: APC- 10,426, PDP- 9,136
IJUMU: APC- 9,958, PDP- 6,040
OKENE: APC- 14,786, PDP- 15,968
YAGBA WEST: APC- 7,960, PDP- 7,021
YAGBA EAST: APC- 7,129, PDP- 5,368
AJAOKUTA: APC- 8,581, PDP- 6,903.
More results are still being collated by the LGs Returning Officers while the winner is expected to be announced later today.
