Mr. James Faleke has no locus standi to file petition against the election of Yahaya Bello as the duly elected Governor of Kogi State, the State Governorship Elections Petitions Tribunal ruled on Monday.
Consequently, the Tribunal dismissed his petition. Faleke was the running mate to Abubakar Audu, the initial governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who died on the day of the election.
Faleke had approached the Tribunal to challenge the election of Yahaya Bello as Kogi State Governor.
Bello was chosen by the leadership of APC to replace late Abubakar Audu, in the supplementary election and won.
Faleke had prayed election petition tribunal to declare him as the authentic winner of the November 21, 2015 governorship election in Kogi State.
He anchored his prayers on the ground that Governor Yahaya Bello never participated in the said election.
