Police in Adamawa said its operatives had dislodged criminal hideout, rescued two kidnapped victims and neutralized three kidnappers, at Kona mountain in Jada Local Government Area of the state.
SP Suleiman Nguroje, command spokesperson disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Thursday in Yola.
He said that the operation was conducted on Wednesday following the command’s renewed commitment to enhance proactive strategies.
“The operation, which was carried out by the Command operatives attached to Crack Squad and Hunters of Tabbital Pulaku Association has yielded positive result.

“The outcome of these successes follow-up on strategy designed by the command to checkmate offences bordering on kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling, unlawful possession of firearms, amongst others,’’ he said.
According to him, the suspected kidnappers on Jan. 24 stormed a cattle ranch of Alhaji Karlahi and whisk away Umar Jibo (18) and Idi Hassan (13) years to their hideout.
“The command mobilized the rescue team and went after the kidnappers, upon sighting our men, they engaged them in a gun duel, as a result three of them were neutralized and others escaped with bullet wounds.
“Interestingly, the two victims were rescued unharmed,’’ he stated.
Nguroje said the Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, commended the officers and hunters for gallantry performance displayed and urged them to sustain the tempo as a strategy for checkmating crimes in the state.
Babatola called on the populace to always give timely information to the police especially the whereabouts of criminals and their hideouts. (NAN)
