Super Eagles boss, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi has said he cannot wait for the trio of Bright Dike, Kenneth Omeruo and Gabriel Reuben to get back into full fitness as the Brazil 2014 World Cup beckons.
Team’s Media Officer, Ben Alaiya, quotes Keshi as saying from the United States where he has gone on a short visit to his family that the three players gives him a lot of options in the major departments of the game. Dike is a power playing striker, Omeruo, a central defender and Reuben a combative midfielder with an eye for goals.
“I am in touch with the three of them and have been praying with them and for them because Nigeria and their club sides need them because they are at their prime and very good at what they are doing. So I will want Nigerians to join me in praying for them so that they can return to action on time.
Keshi also spoke on Mikel’s first premier league goal for Chelsea last weekend since joining the London side seven seasons ago. “I have been trying to reach him but to no avail but am absolutely delighted because I always tell him he can do it whether at club or national team level but he has to move closer to the goal area. He has done it on one or two occasionswith the national team and there should be nothing special about his scoring for Chelsea but a lot also depends on what Coach Mourinho wants him to play for the club. I am sure the goals will start pouring in for him now”, he said.
On Victor Moses, Keshi said he is excited at the form of the player for his new club, Liverpool FC, adding that Moses has always had a very positive attitude to the game of football and predicted that he will not only be a legend of the game for the Super Eagles but in English and European football.
