Chairman Katsina State Football Association, Aminu Kurfi Balele has predicted that the super eagles will lift the 33rd edition of Africa Cup of Nations going by the first encounter with the Pharaohs of Egypt in Garoua.
Speaking in a telephone chat from Cameroon, the former Katsina Utd Boss said Austin Eguavoen has shown that given Nigerian coaches the necessary environment, senior national teams both male and female can go places even win the Fifa World Cups.
He said the Nigerian team which parades one of the youngest players in the tournament will make surprises and bring the cup back to Nigeria.
He said Super Eagles needed a win against Sudan to qualify from the group stage.
“I am very confident that the current super eagles will play at the final. The boys are young, mobile, and experience judging from the clubs they are plying their trades.
“We just need a good manager to blend them together like what Eguavoen is doing with the team now in AFCON.
“Look I can tell you for free that Nigeria has millions of young talented players in our local league. The eagles need to play as a team and not individual play which they are currently doing,” said Katsina F.A Boss.
Balele advised the eagles manager and his crew not to be distracted with the victory against Egypt as Sudan not considered as tournament favourite may spring surprise.
