The Kaduna state Contributory Health Management Authority (KACHMA) has said that it was targeting a 150 per cent increase in its enrolment of persons on the health scheme by the end of 2022.
Abubakar Hassan, Director General of the authority, made this known on Wednesday in an engagement meeting with Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs’) desk officers in Kaduna.
According to him, the meeting was necessary as the agency’s strategy to evaluate the processes of the scheme, to ensure improved enrolment of the informal sector.
He said that the enrolees of the different MDAs formed an integral part of the numbers of enrolees in the state, hence the need to get feedback from the desk officers or their representatives to improve the scheme.
“We want to have a better approach, through knowledge sharing, from representatives of MDAs to communicate and attract indirect enrolees, who are willing to enrol in the scheme. “
Hassan announced that the agency would be holding the meeting quarterly, to improve the feedback mechanism and for better informal sector enrolee data.
Abdulahi Danfulani, chairman, Kaduna council, Trade Union Congress, commended KACHMA for the initiative in getting feedback to improve on its services.
He urged the authority to ensure that more residents were sensitised to ensure all residents of the state, had access to quality, equitable and affordable healthcare, regardless of their socio-cultural and economic status. (NAN)
