Tensions flared on Wednesday during a World Press Conference held at Radisson Blu in Ikeja, Lagos State, as Mrs. Abosede Aloba, mother of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, clashed with actor Yomi Fabiyi over allegations surrounding the singer’s death.
Fabiyi accused Mohbad’s brother, Adura Aloba, of messaging him on Instagram with claims about the root cause of the singer’s untimely demise.
The allegation stirred immediate reactions from Mrs. Aloba, who vehemently denied any such involvement by Adura.
Pointing at Fabiyi in anger, she said, “They killed Mohbad, and you want me to lose his brother unjustly. He knows nothing about his brother’s death; do not implicate my son.”
Clearly distraught, the grieving mother added, “I am not happy that I lost Mohbad because if he were alive, I wouldn’t be sitting here with you. They took my precious gift away, and I won’t let them take Adura, too.”
Fabiyi, however, maintained his stance, arguing that his focus was on the content of the message, not necessarily the sender. He expressed doubts about the claim that Adura had no involvement.
The confrontation added a dramatic twist to ongoing calls for justice for the late singer, whose mysterious death has left fans and family members demanding answers.
Prompt News reports that the details of the controversy are still unfolding.
