Team Nigeria at the ongoing IAAF junior athletics championship in Mauritius have so far gotten a total of nine medals.
They won four gold, four silver and one bronze in 100m boys, 400m girls, 4 x 100m relay for boys and girls respectively
Speaking to Prompt News Online, ex international Mary Onyali said she was happy so far with the performances of the junior athletes.
“The athletes have done well so far and I am happy for them. I want them to keep up the momentum and add more medals to their haul,” she said.
Onyali, who is now the Special Assistant (Technical) to the Director General, National Sports Commission is however, hopeful of winning more medals when the championship is rounded off on Saturday.
