By Harry Awurumibe Nigeria’s U- 17 Women’s soccer team Flamingos showed class over the Junior Gladiators of Namibia scoring four unreplied goals in the first leg of the second round of FIFA U- 17 Women’s World Cup Africa qualifier match at Abuja National Stadium Saturday.
Captain Rashidat Ajibade led by example by scoring a brace. She opened scores and closed it too in the 13th and 68th minutes.
The other two goals were scored by Cynthia Aku in the 38th minutes and Peace Ewomazino in the 43rd minutes to complete a total massacre of the Namibians who could not trouble the Nigerian backline.
With the high scoreline the return leg in Windhoek will be a mere formality for the Flamingos in two weeks time.
