A former National Publicity Secretary of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prof Rufa’i Alkali has been named the new Political Adviser to the President.
He replaces Ahmed Gulak, erstwhile Political Adviser who was sacked in controversial manner on April 29.
A statement by Presidential Media Adviser, Dr. Reuben Abati, also announced the appointment of Mrs. Baraka Sani as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Schools’ Agriculture Programme.
Prof Alkali, a political scientist who hails from Gombe State, north-east is the Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna.
Mrs. Sani, was until recently the Commissioner for Agriculture in Kano State.
Both appointments according to Abati, takes immediate effect.
