President Goodluck Jonathan Thursday met with the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He was accompanied by members of the Kano Emirate Council while on the Presidency side were Vice President Namadi Sambo, Foreign Affairs Minister, Aminu Wali, National Security Adviser (NSA) Sambo Dasuki (rtd) and Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke.
But, details of the meeting which held behind closed doors could not be ascertained as at the time of filling this report.
Prompt News however gathered that the meeting may have been brokered to ensure harmonious relationship between the Presidency and the Emir of Kano ahead of 2015 presidential election.
Sanusi had earlier visited the Presidential Villa during Ramadan fasting in company of other traditional rulers from the north to break fast with President Jonathan.
But, Thursday meeting was the first time he would be meeting the President behind closed doors.
It will be recalled that prior to his ascension to the throne, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, was suspended as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria on allegations bothering on financial recklessness.
He had earlier raised the alarm over an alleged missing $20 billion dollars from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) account, a situation that brought him into direct conflict with the Presidency.
After the meeting, Sanusi acknowledged greetings but declined questions from State House correspondents.
