From Harry Awurumibe in Awka Anambra
Great relieve may have come the way of everyone connected to the Anambra state Governorship Election billed for Saturday, November 6, 2021 and the entire South East, as the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafrans (IPOB) said it has rescinded the proposed One Week Sit-at-home earlier planned to start from Friday, November 5.
A terse statement from the group made available to the media on Thursday evening said IPOB has suspended the call for a week-long Sit-at-home order and instead urged the people of Anambra state to come out en masse to vote in the Governorship Election on Saturday, November 6 to choose their leader.
IPOB also asked the people of Anambra to stand behind to protect their votes while warning that anyone who dares to enforce or monitor the suspended Sit-at-home order in the South East in general and Anambra state in particular from Friday will be tagged a “rebel.
This latest information from IPOB has shown that the agitators listened to the wise counsels of the the concerned people of the South East especially traditional and religious leaders who have appealed to them to allow for the democratic process of election to hold in Anambra state in spite of their grievances.
