Nigeria’s Super Falcons fell to a 3-0 defeat to hosts, China in their opening game at the Wuhua four-nation invitational tournament at the Meizhou Olympics Sports Centre on Thursday, reports Promptnewsonline.com.
The hosts took the lead in the 10th minute through Zhang Rui who poked the ball home after Tochukwu Oluehi parried Gu Yasha’s free kick to his path.
China doubled their lead in the 6 3rd minute with Li Ying finding the back of the net after she was beautifully set up by Wang Shang.
Li Ying got her second goal of the game, finishing brilliantly at the far post after she was picked out by Wu Chengshu, compounding a very disappointing afternoon for Nigeria.

The competition was meant to serve as part of their preparations for this year’s Fifa Women’s World Cup billed for France this summer, where they take on Norway, Korea Republic as well as the hosts in the group stages.
