The Super Eagles came back from a goal down to beat 10-man Mozambique 3-2 in a friendly at the Estadio Municipal de Albufeira on Monday night.
Jose Peseiro’s men went down in the sixth minute when Geny Catamo slotted the ball into the net after he was set up by Witi.
The Super Eagles responded by laying siege on the Mozambican defence.
The pressure paid off with Terem Moffi netting the equaliser on 18 minutes.
Mozambique goalkeeper Ernan Siluane produced two good saves to deny Frank Onyeka in the 20 and 21st minutes respectively.
Onyeka however doubled Nigeria’s lead a minute before the half hour mark.
Mozambique had a player sent off for a foul on Joe Aribo in the 39th minute.
The Super Eagles extended their lead late in the first half with Moses Simon converting from the spot.
Mozambique reduced the deficit through Faisal Bangal in the 55th minute.
Substitute Umar Sadiq had a goal chalked off for offside 20 minutes from time. READ ALSO:

The Super Eagles maintained their lead for the remaining part of the game.
Jose Peseiro’s side will now shift attention to their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe next month.
