Nasarawa state Governor Abdullahi Sule has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the citing of a new Police Mobile Training School at a notorious hill in the state.
The Governor told State House Correspondents in Abuja Thursday after a courtesy visit to the President at Presidential Villa Abuja, saying he came to thank and consult the President on the development in Nasarawa state.
According to him, “as a member of APC and as a Governor representing the party, I came to pay respect to the leader of our party, Mr. President.
“And I came also to brief him as a state that is the greatest proximity to the Federal Capital Territory which is Nasarawa. It is very important for Mr. President to know what is happening in the state and I used the opportunity to come to brief him on some of the important issues – about security issues, about development taking place in Nasarawa and I believe that will be an ideal visit.”
Sule also argued that “the security situation in our state (Nasarawa) has significantly improved. We are very grateful to God Almighty most of the skirmish, most of the issues of kidnapping, banditry, armed robbery along the ways have reduced significantly.
“We have come most especially to thank Mr. President for citing the school, Mobile Training School at the hills where we have the greatest problems in our state. That is “Many have gone hills”.
Today, the Mobile Police are establishing the Mobile Police Training School there and the training school is going to bring a lot of development around the area. And it is actually going to stop most of the kidnapping around that particular spot and of the problems we are continuing to see especially at spot. That is good not only for Nasarawa state because that is the main route people from Benue, Taraba, Cross River, Enugu and the rest of them that follow that route to come to Abuja.
So for the establishment of such institution there, we are very grateful to Mr. President for citing such school there. As I was passing through there this morning, work has started there and we are very grateful to the HIP and we are very grateful to Mr. President”.
