Everton has been handed a boost with Alex Iwobi expected to be fit for Premier League action in two weeks.
There were fears Iwobi could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after he was badly tackled by Tyrell Malacia in Everton’s Emirates FA Cup defeat to Manchester United at the Old Trafford on Friday night.
According to respected journalist, Osazu Obayiwana, the 26-year-old will only be out of action for just few weeks.
“Good news: @alexiwobi of @Everton & the @NGSuperEagles will be back in @premierleague action after two weeks.
Iwobi was badly brought down in the game against @ManUtd. Results of his scan show “things are not as bad as previously thought,” said a source very close to the player,” Obayiwana wrote on his Twitter handle.
The Nigeria international has played every minutes of Everton’s 18 Premier League games this season.
The midfielder has scored one goal and contributed six assists.
His presence will be crucial in Everton’s fight against relegation.
