The Afro Asian Initiative for Community Development (AAICD), Nigerian Chapter, says it will sensitise Indians and Nigerians on the need for healthy living through a session of running, walking and yoga activities on May 2.Its President, Sanjay Srivastava, disclosed this while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Lagos.
Srivastava said this was to promote fitness and yoga under open environment and close to nature. He noted that the Indian group was also engaging in the programme to achieve integration of Nigerians and lndians.
According to him, the theme for the programme is “Run4Unity”.“Our purpose for organising the unity run is to ensure proper integration of Nigerians and Indians, to achieve unity and create awareness on the essence of maintaining healthy lifestyle. “It is for a happier and healthier lifestyle.
“This will be done on May 2, we enjoin our Nigerian brothers and sisters to join us in the programme which will hold at the Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket Oval, Lagos Island.“ This comes up on the eve of our 5th year of hosting the upcoming event RUN4UNITY in Nigeria,” he said. (NAN)
