Immigration Officers Wives Association (IMMOWA), Zone “A” Ikeja, Lagos State, on Saturday donated some items to orphanage, elders and Mosque.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the association donated foodstuffs, foot wears, drugs, beverages educational materials, toiletries, household items, among others.
Its Chairperson, Mrs Bola Osisanya, during the visit said the gesture was to exemplify the love behind the death of Jesus Christ and the Ramandan.
Osisanya, who is also the coordinator of all the Chapters of IMMOWA in Zone “A” in Lagos State and Ogun, reiterated the association’s determination to assist vulnerable people.
NAN reports that IMMOWA was established in 2009 to promote cooperation among members and impact the society positively.
Osisanya and her entourage while inspecting the male and female facilities at the BAS-ES SALAM Orphanage, Ikeja, said the donation depicted the tenets of humanitarian service and love, especially at Easter and Ramandan.
She commended the management of the orphanage on its efforts to ensure that the children were in sound and healthy condition.
Imam Hassan Tahir, who is in-charge of the orphanage, appreciated the association for the gesture.
Tahir said some of the children that passed through the orphanage are now university and polytechnic graduates.
Speaking at Regina Mundi, Elders’ Home, Olosha, Mushin, Osisanya pledged continuous love to the elders and prayed that God would protect them from any form of terminal illness.
“IMMOWA appreciates the special care to our elders. This association will do it’s best to express love always,” she said.
The Matron of the Home, Sister Anthonia Adebowale, appreciated the association for the visit and promised that the Home would sustain the good care it gives to the elders.
