The race for the Nigerian Professional Football League title is still open, the boss of Sunshine Stars FC of Akure, Mike Idoko has said.
Speaking with Prompt News Online in Abuja, Idoko said the league this season has been very tough, adding that nobody can predict yet who would win or who would go on relegation.
Idoko stated that it would be suicidal for any club in the premier league to lay claim to winning the title now or for any one to predict which club will go on relegation.
“My club Sunshine Stars, are not having it rosy now because we faced certain challenges at the beginning of the season but all that is now behind us and we can turn our fortune around”
“With about 27 matches gone in the league, I want to say that the league is still open and any club among the top 10 placed clubs can win the league so also no one can say who goes on relegation now”
“Although we are in a phase of rebuilding the team after two back to back years of playing in the continent, we shall take our chances and see how far it takes us” Idoko said.
