By: Gracious Akujobi The Super Eagles Head Coach Stephen Keshi, has asked Nigerians not to fret while assuring that Super Eagles will do the country proud when they face the Ethiopians in the first leg of the 2014 world cup qualifiers in Addis Ababa.
He gave this assurance in a chat with newsmen at the teams Bolton White hotel camp in Abuja, saying the team will not worry about external things but would rather concentrate mentally on how to win the match.
“I am confident that we will get a good result there because my focus now is about leading Nigeria to the biggest world cup fiesta in 2014 Brazil. My players and I know it won’t be easy picking the ticket to Brazil,We have to fight hard to get it”.
“We played them during the nation’s cup where we beat them 2-0 but we all know that every game has a different spirit, that is why we need high level concentration which will give us the desired result”
The Big Boss also reiterated the fact that he and his coaching crew are fully aware of antics countries play to intimidate their opponents and have tutored his boys to expect the worse and allow any mind game derail the team from the set target
“I have experienced those antics as a player and coach, it is an African way of intimidating their opponents and I assure you my boys will be focused and will not fall for such act” he stated.
