Nigeria National League side, Heartland were involved in a road accident on Friday.
The players and officials of the team were on their way to Abakaliki for the Ifeanyi Ekwueme TICO/SELECT Pre Season Tournament.
PNO Sports reports that the accident occured at Umunna close to Okigwe in Imo state.
The driver in an attempt to dodge an oncoming vehicle rain into another parked vehicle that was involved in another accident.
Though no death was recorded, some players and officials sustained injuries and have been taken to the hospital.
The incident is expected to derail the team’s preparation for the new season.
