The Nigeria Under 18 women’s handball team on Wednesday, defeated their counterparts Guadeloupe 28-23 to record first victory in their first match of the 2024 IHF Women’s Trophy Intercontinental.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Nigerian team led in the first half by 16-9.
The coach of Nigeria team, Agboola Shittu told NAN that they will end the championship on a high note.
“They will continue with the same momentum in their remaining games.
“The team is in high spirit now ,we will make the country proud at the end of the tournament,”he said
Taiwo Babatunde of was voted the most outstanding player of the match.
Nigeria will play their second match against North Caledonia at 6am on Thursday.

NAN reports that Nigeria is grouped in group A alongside Guadeloupe and North Caledonia.
