The Integrity Youth Alliance has condemned the PDP Governors’ Forum for attacking the integrity of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd.
According to a press release on Friday, March 25, 2021, signed by the National Coordinator of the Group, Kelvin Adegbenga, he said that the PDP government that couldn’t fix any of the refineries in the country for the past 16 years should cover their heads in shame since the Buhari administration is already genuinely rehabilitating the refineries.
“On the rejection of the N548 billion subsidy payment claim, we also want to remind the PDP Governors’ Forum that they should rather commend President Buhari for signing the Petroleum Industry Act, which the PDP Administration dragged for sixteen years without any headway.
In the next few months, the issue of subsidy payment will be a thing of the past as the Act will open up the petroleum industries to foreign investors and provide more funds for national development.
“There is no doubt that every state is endowed. Therefore, we called on the PDP Governor to develop its potential for the benefit of its people rather than wait for NNPC Limited to generate revenue for them.
The group called the PDP Governors’ Forum to unlock the huge resources they have, based on areas of comparative advantage, to rapidly expand wealth for their people rather than wait for the center to spoon-feed them.
Recall that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum rejected the N548 billion subsidy payment claims by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) at the end of the forum’s meeting in Abia State on Wednesday.
