Ahead of the 2015 general elections, a group, Okigwe Door to Door initiative has commended the Speaker, Imo state House of Assembly, Benjamin Uwajumogu, for achieving, what they described as ’’ phenomenal representation’’ for the zone and called on people of the zone to throw their weight behind the Speaker’s senatorial bid to guarantee more dividends of democracy for the zone.
Okigwe Door to Door, in a statement in Okigwe, by it interim Chairman, Mr. Chika Ilo, noted that Uwajumogu has left indelible prints on key areas of the zone’s infrastructure and its people, ranging from youth and women empowerment, human capital development and influencing key projects to communities in Okigwe zone.
He said: ‘’ our group is supporting the Speaker Imo state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Benjamin Uwajumogu, because everybody wants to identify with the best, Uwajumogu, is a good product, that is why we want to identify with him.
‘’The Speaker, a dogged fighter who ensures that rights accruable to Okigwe people cannot slip away under his watch, has performed well in legislation, in the attraction of infrastructure to our people, he has succeeded in eliminating god fatherism and middlemen in the distribution of the dividends of democracy, he has played key roles in transforming our educational sector, under his watch, our roads, markets, schools, industries has also witnessed tremendous improvements. He needs our support to do more that is why we are glad to support his election to the senate’’.
