Gridlock and anxiety has enveloped Ilorin and environs on Tuesday morning as private and public schools within the state resumed for academic activities.
A News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) correspondent who went round the town saw traffic gridlocks on major roads that hitherto had free movement while schools were on vacation.
Students were seen at different bus stops waiting to board vehicles while private car owners were also hurrying to meet up resumption time with their children.
Some of the students who spoke to NAN said they were happy to resume school after the holidays, which had Easter and Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
Ms Monsurat Adeyemi of Cherubim and Seraphim School said she enjoyed her holiday and was eager to resume to meet up with her friends.
She said her parents doesn’t allow her go out casually, that it is only when she comes to school that she gets to relate with her friends.
Another student, Mr Michael Idowu, said the resumption would give him the opportunity to train well for the upcoming basketball championship he wanted to participate in.
A parent, Mrs Bolanle Osunde, said the resumption was a relief for her as she has been battling with where to keep her children while she goes to work. (NAN)
