Sadiq Yakubu, the Team Manager of Nigeria Air Force (NAF) Football Club, on Thursday said his team’s greatest dream for 2018 was to qualify for the Nigeria Professional football League (NPFL).
Yakubu disclosed in Abuja that he was satisfied with the club’s performance in 2016/2017, but that more still needed to be done for greater results.
He however said the Abuja-based club would do its best through hard work and better team spirit to ensure qualification into the NPFL for the 2018/2019 season.
“We believe that there is hope for us to qualify for the premier league next year so that we can show our worth.
“I am satisfied with our performance in 2016/2017 in the Nationwide League One (NLO), as well as our performance in the Super 8,’’ he said.
Yakubu expressed confidence in the capability of his team to qualify from the Nigeria National League (NNL) and do better in Nigeria’s premier league if they get the chance.
He called for total commitment to trainings and other forms of preparations for the team to find a place in the premier league.
NAF FC participated in the Super 8 played in Katsina recently to determine the real champions of the NLO, and will play in the NNL in the 2017/2018 season.
