The Emir of Gudi, Alhaji Sule Bawa, who is also the father of the Nasarawa state Governor, Abdullahi Sule is currently on isolation as he is suspected to be COVID-19 positive.
A source close to the family who pleaded anonymity told our correspondent that the governor’s father had a running with fever and cough.
He was rushed to the VIP wing of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital ( DASH) isolation centre on Wednesday, where he is currently receiving treatment.
According to the source, the palace has also been fumigated on Thursday, 4th May, 2020.
The Chief Medical Director of DASH when contacted said that “ it is unethical to reveal the identity of any patient”.
On the issue of measures put in place to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the state, the commissioner of police in Nasarawa state, Bola Longe, warned that any body found flouting the rules will be prosecuted no matter how highly placed.
“No matter how highly placed you are, if you flout the law, we will deal with you in accordance to the provision of the law” he said.
Longe told the press that a total of 1,924 persons have been arrested for flouting the rules, 1,879 persons have been charged to court, 1,451 motorcycles have been impounded, 86 vehicles and 202 tricycles.
He stressed the need for parents to educate their children on the need for total obedience to set rules and regulations as the police will not hesitate to punish anyone found disobeying.
