Gov. Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau has congratulated former military Head of State, retired Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, on his 83rd birthday anniversary.
A statement by Mr Gyang Bere, Director of Press and Public Affairs (DOPPA) to the governor, quoted Mutfwang as saying that Babangida is a national icon whose contributions had shaped the trajectory of Nigeria.
Acknowledging Babangida’s far-reaching influence on the nation through various transformative interventions, Mutfwang said that the former leader made an indelible mark on Nigeria’s history.
”Babangida’s unwavering dedication and commitment to Nigeria’s unity is exemplified by his military service and enduring political engagement.
”His life has continued to inspire countless Nigerians, particularly through his philanthropic efforts which have significantly improved healthcare and education.
His efforts have also ensured economic empowerment, particularly for the underprivileged persons.

”We wish him continued happiness, good health and prosperity in the years ahead,” he said.
Mutfwang called on Babangida to continue to share his wealth of knowledge with the current leaders through advocacy for peace and unity.
