KANO – Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has described the late politician and elder statesman, Alhaji Umaru Shinkafi as a man of wisdom who served Nigeria diligently.
The governor, in a statement by his Director – General, Media and Communications, Salihu Tanko Yakasai recalled that the late Alhaji Shinkafi, Marafan Sokoto, played a vital role in sustaining democracy in the country.
Salihu Tanko Yakasai, Director-General, Media and Communications, quoted the Governor as saying, “Nigerians will greatly miss the experience and wisdom of Alhaji Shinkafi. He was a gentleman who devoted his life to this country”, the statement asserted.
The governor commiserated with his family, the government and people of Sokoto state over the monumental loss, urging especially his family members to take solace in the fact that he lived a fulfilled life.
